PSG Takes the 2011 Spikes Tournament Championship
    Thursday, May 19, 2011

The 2011 Spikes Tournament is over. PSG was the overall winner followed by Orange Chicken. Both teams battled their way to the Championship game which turned into a 3 game thriller. It was a great way to close out the tournament.

Over in the Consolation Bracket, the pesky ROHS staff team, aka Aged to Perfection, took down the Str8 (Straight) Up Winners. A common theme of the tournament is how good some of the guys can actually play volleyball. Take the best from each team, find a few 6’7” hitters and we might have the making of a pretty solid program! Hmmmmm. I guess something for the new AD to ponder.

It was a good time for all who had the chance to attend. It’s hard to beat a Saturday night filled with Volleyball, hotdogs, pizza, and soda. Well, maybe if the volleyball was being played by our own Lady Hawks.

Congratulations to PSG! Thanks to the many volunteers who helped put the tournament together, and of course, Thanks to our Lady Hawks for coaching the teams.

    See you next year!

After a few months off, it's time to revive the volleyball booster club!  There is much to be done!!!  Although our general meetings are usually held the second Monday of the month, we have moved the March meeting to the third Monday (March 21st) due to next Monday being Spring Break!  So please mark your calendars to attend -- Monday, March 21st @ 7pm in the Media Room in the High School Gymnasium.  This is a VERY IMPORTANT MEETING as we will be forming several committees -- (1) a Nominating Committee to begin securing leadership positions for next year, (2) a Scholarship Committee to judge/select this year's scholarship recipients and (3) an Audit Committee to audit our financial records for 2010-2011.  We will also be discussing whether we plan to host the Spikes-All Guy Volleyball tournament (a great fundraiser!!) again this year and, if so, begin organizing that event!

Please give serious consideration how YOU can contribute to the future success of the Lady Hawks Volleyball Booster Club!  The volleyball program at Red Oak High School is one of the best in the state and the booster club plays a vital role in continuing that success!!  SO PLEASE STEP UP AND TAKE AN ACTIVE ROLE -- NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!  If you are unable to make the meeting on Monday but would like to be considered for any of the above committees or for an officer or chairperson position for next year, please let me know!!  Personally, it's been a very exciting, rewarding experience and I've met so many wonderful friends through the process---I highly recommend getting involved!!!

Varsity Season Ends With Loss to Pearce
    Saturday, November 13, 2010

A great crowd of Red Oak fans were on hand as the Lady Hawks season came to an end Saturday afternoon losing to the Richardson Pearce Lady Mustangs in 4 sets in the Regional Final.

In the first set, the Lady Hawks came out fired up and jumped out to a 7-3 lead on kills from Hunter Porter, Caleah Wells and Kennedi Coleman. After a Pearce time out, the Lady Mustangs got 4 straight kills to tie the score at 7. The Lady Hawks took a 10-7 lead on 2 great blocks by Wells, but again Pearce battled back to tie the score at 11. After the Lady Hawks made several errors they found themselves down 13-17, a Lady Mustang lead they would never catch up to, as Pearce began to roll. With Pearce playing strong at the net and Red Oak continuing to make errors, the Lady Hawks lost the first set 15-25.

The second set began with the Lady Hawks keeping up with the Lady Mustangs with kills from Porter and Coleman and a service ace by Averi Walker. With the score tied at 6, the Lady Hawk errors started again as Red Oak fell behind 8-13. After a Red Oak timeout, kills by Wells, Lindsay Prasifka and Porter, blocks by Prasifka and Morgan Watts and another service ace by Walker, the Lady Hawks tied the score at 17. The Lady Hawks' offense began to click as Walker served another ace, Porter got a kill, Emmalee Smith served an ace, another kill by Porter and a tip by Watts. With Prasifka, Walker, Kaycie Bird, Porter and Gabby Pena passing and digging most of the Pearce hits, Red Oak took a 23-19 lead. The Lady Mustangs fought back but the Lady Hawks were able to hang on to win the second set 25-23 on a Prasifka kill.

Set three began with the Lady Hawks exploding out of the shoot. With Bird setting Porter, Wells, Watts, Coleman and Prasifka, the Lady Hawks jumped out to an 8-3 lead. However, the Lady Mustangs were too good of a team to go down without a fight as they battled hard to tie the score at 13. It then became a see-saw battle until the score was tied at 18. Two explosive kills by Pearce gave the Lady Mustangs a 2 point lead, which the Lady Hawks could not recover. Red Oak lost the third set 23-25.

The Lady Hawks were able to tie the score at 10 early in the fourth set behind the hitting of Porter and Prasifka. Again, the Lady Hawks had no answer for the Pearce strong front row, as they fell behind 12-16. The Lady Hawks fought hard and pulled within 2, 18-20. However, the Lady Mustangs were too strong in the end as the Lady Hawks lost the fourth set 21-25 and the match.

The Lady Hawks end the season with a 39-8 record.

Lindsay Prasifka had 12 kills, 1 block and 19 digs, Emmalee Smith had 1 ace and 7 digs, Averi Walker had 5 aces and 11 digs, Kaycie Bird had 2 blocks, 42 assists and 14 digs, Hunter Porter had 17 kills, 1 block, 11 aces and 12 digs, Caleah Wells had 7 kills and 5 blocks, Morgan Watts had 6 kills and 2 blocks, and Gabby Pena had 15 digs.

Lady Hawks Outlast Highland Park to Advance to Regional Finals!
    Friday, November 12, 2010

WOW! What an exciting, intense, edge-of-your seat match. An enormous Red Oak crowd was treated to a great volleyball match as the Lady Hawks outlasted the Highland Park Lady Scots in the Regional Semi-Final match Friday night.

With the fans cheering loudly, the first set was a back-and-forth battle right from the start. Both teams were on fire as neither team got more than a 2 point lead. With the game tied at 21, a net violation on the Lady Hawks and a kill by the Lady Scots, gave Highland Park a 2 point lead. The Lady Hawks tied the score at 23 on kills by Hunter Porter and Kaycie Bird. For the next several points, the Lady Scots would get a 1 point lead only to have the Lady Hawks' Porter or Caleah Wells get a kill to tie the set. With the score tied at 26, the Lady Hawks were able to hang on and win the set 28-26 on 2 Highland Park errors.

The battle continued into the second set. The Lady Hawks struggled to handle the powerful Lady Scots' hitting and got down early 7-13. Behind kills by Kennedi Coleman, Porter and Wells, a service ace by Bird and blocks by Morgan Watts, Coleman and Wells, the Lady Hawks were able to fight back to tie the score at 20. The Lady Scots had several well placed hits and the Lady Hawks found themselves down 22-24. After a Red Oak time out and a kill by Watts and a block for a point by Coleman, the set was tied at 24. With several Porter kills, the Lady Hawks won the second set 28-26.

With Porter continuing to kill the ball, and with great defensive plays by Gabby Pena and Mallory Bolin, the Lady Hawks had a 17-14 lead in the third set. Highland Park was not ready to throw in the towel and fought back to tie the score at 18. The Lady Scots now had momentum and took the lead never to relinquish it. The Lady Hawks lost the third set 23-25 in a heartbreaker.

The Lady Hawks looked flat as they fell behind early in the fourth set. Behind a kill from Porter and a service ace by Emmalee Smith, the Lady Hawks fought back to tie the score at 14. However, after several Red Oak errors and a couple of controversial referee calls, the Lady Hawks got behind 16-23. Red Oak could never get their offense started again and lost the fourth set 19-25.

With memories of 2 years ago, when Red Oak lost to Highland Park after being up 2-0, it was do-or-die time for the Lady Hawks in the fifth set. Pena, Bolin and Averi Walker stiffened up on defense and with Porter, Wells, Watts, Coleman and Lindsay Prasifka pounding kills, the Lady Hawks were able to keep the game close. With the game tied at 10, Porter got 3 kills to give the Lady Hawks a 13-11 lead. Again, Highland Park would not give up and tied the score at 14. Red Oak got behind 14-15 on a passing error, but came back to tie it at 15 on a great dig by Walker and a kill by Porter. A kill by Wells and a service ace by Porter sealed the Lady Hawks' win 17-15 and the Regional Semi-Final Championship.

Hunter Porter had 24 kills, 1 block, 1 ace and 12 digs, Kaycie Bird had 2 blocks, 2 aces, 41 assists and 12 digs, Caleah Wells had 12 kills and 1 block, Lindsay Prasifka had 11 kills, 1 ace and 6 digs, Emmalee Smith had 1 ace and 7 digs, Averi Walker had 10 digs, Morgan Watts had 7 kills and 2 blocks, Gabby Pena had 2 aces and 20 digs, Mallory Bolin had 7 digs and Kennedi Coleman had 6 kills and 5 blocks.

    Tuesday, November 9, 2010

The Lady Hawks had a great supporting crowd follow them to Waco Tuesday night as they played the Pflugerville Connally Lady Cougars in the Regional Quarter Final match. The fans had alot to cheer about as the Lady Hawks swept the Lady Cougars in three sets to advance to the Regional Semi Finals.

The Lady Hawks forced Connally to call time out after they jumped out to an early 8-4 lead in the first set behind the hitting and blocking of Morgan Watts. The Lady Cougars were able to cut the Lady Hawks lead to 12-10 after Red Oak made several hitting errors. That's when Watts, Hunter Porter and Lindsay Prasifka took over as they pounded hits and kills to increase the Lady Hawks lead to 20-13. The Lady Hawks went on to win the first set 25-16.

The Lady Hawks struggled at the beginning of the second set as they fell behind early 0-2. With Porter continuing to hit well and Caleah Wells and Kennedi Coleman dominating the net, the Lady Hawks battled back and forth with the Lady Cougars to tie the score at 8. Sparked by a Watts block and two Prasifka kills, the Lady Hawks jumped out to a 15-10 lead, forcing Connally to call time out. The Lady Hawks continued to dominate the Lady Cougars behind Wells who had 2 blocks and 2 kills down the stretch run. The Lady Hawks won the second set 25-16 on a block by Coleman.

Again, in the third set, the Lady Hawks struggled early. Down 2-5, the Lady Hawks were able to fight back to tie the set at 7. Then, behind the serving of Emmalee Smith and with Gabby Pena and Mallory Bolin stiffening up the back row defense, the Lady Hawks were able to take control. Varsity Cuts Down Pinetree in Area Round of Playoffs
    Saturday, November 6, 2010

In what turned out to be an intense, hard fought battle, the Lady Hawks beat a determined Longview Pinetree team in four sets. Getting great support, the fans from both teams were very loud, creating an exciting atmosphere, during the entire Area playoff match held at Wills Point High School.

The Pinetree Lady Pirates made it known early in the first set they were not going down without a fight as they maintained a 1-2 point lead through the first 8 points. The Lady Hawks were able to tie the score at 8 and then again at 12 before building their lead to 20-16 behind the hard hitting of Hunter Porter and the timely blocks of Morgan Watts and Caleah Wells. After several unforced errors by the Lady Hawks and some well placed hits by the Lady Pirates, Pinetree tied the score at 23 and then again at 25. The Lady Hawks then made 2 errors, losing the set 25-27.

The Lady Hawks jumped out to a 6-3 lead in the second set with Watts, Porter and Lindsay Prasifka getting kills. Again, the Lady Pirates fought back to tie the score at 6 and again at 10, but could never take the lead. The Lady Hawks were able to keep a 1-2 point lead the rest of the set with Kaycie Bird dishing out sets to Porter, Prasifka, Wells, Watts and Kennedi Coleman and getting 3 kills herself on "shoots" to keep the Lady Pirates off balance. The Lady Hawks won the set on a Porter kill, 25-22.

The Lady Hawks started the third set slowly, but were able to tie the Lady Pirates at 3. Then it was all Lady Hawks as they dominated the Lady Pirates to build a 13-5 lead. With Averi Walker, Gabby Pena and Mallory Bolin playing great defense, the Lady Pirates could never battle back. The Lady Hawks finished the set on Porter, Wells, Bird and Prasifka kills to win 25-17.

The intensity grew in the fourth set as Lady Hawks fans sensed victory and as Lady Pirates fans tried to motivate their team. The Lady Hawks jumped out to an early 4-1 lead only to have Pinetree tie it at 5. Again, behind great defensive plays from Walker and several Prasifka kills, the Lady Hawks increased their lead to 13-9. However, the Lady Pirates never gave up as they were able to close to within one, 16-15. Kills by Porter and Coleman and a net violation on Pinetree increased the Lady Hawks lead to 19-16. The war was on as the Lady Hawks could not shake the Lady Pirates. With the score tied at 23, Prasifka put down a kill to give the Lady Hawks a 24-23 lead. Varsity Advances To Area Round of Playoffs With Win Over Rudder
    Tuesday, November 2, 2010

The Lady Hawks advanced to the Area Round of the Playoffs by beating the Rudder Rangers of Bryan in three sets Tuesday night. A large number of Red Oak fans made the trip to Waco to support the Lady Hawks.

In the first set, the Lady Hawks jumped out to an early 6-3 lead behind Morgan Watts' great play at the net getting two kills and a block. The Lady Hawks then got on a roll. With Hunter Porter serving two aces and with Caleah Wells and Lindsay Prasifka getting multiple kills, the Lady Hawks were able to increase their lead to 18-7. Then it got ugly for the Lady Hawks. With Red Oak making several hitting and passing errors, the Rangers made a strong push to close within 2, 22-20. However, that is as close as they got as Porter quickly put down 2 kills and the Lady Hawks secured the win on a Rudder hitting error, 25-20.

It seemed like the Lady Hawks' woes were going to continue into the second set as they fell behind early 0-2. However, a Watts kill and a Kennedi Coleman block for a point, quickly tied the set at 2 and gave the spark the Lady Hawks needed. The Lady Hawks were able to increase their lead to 5-2. Rudder would not give up as they kept the score close and cut the Red Oak lead to 11-10. The Lady Hawks, behind the hitting of Porter, Prasifka and Wells and the defensive play of Averi Walker, Mallory Bolin and Gabby Pena, found their game and went on a 10-1 run. Rudder made a little push at the end, but the Lady Hawks held them off to win 25-16.

The third set began with Kaycie Bird serving 10 straight points behind the hitting of Prasifka and Watts' net play. Rudder could never recover as everything seemed to be working for the Lady Hawks. With Bird spreading out accurate sets to Wells, Porter, Prasifka, Watts and Coleman, the Lady Hawks kept Rudder off balance the entire set, winning 25-14, to close out the Bi-District match.

Morgan Watts had 14 kills and 6 blocks, Hunter Porter had 11 kills, 2 aces and 19 digs, Lindsay Prasifka had 10 kills, Kaycie Bird had 33 assists and 7 digs,Caleah Wells had 6 kills and Gabby Pena had 8 digs.

Varsity Beats Waxahachie To Remain Undefeated in District Play for 20 Years!
    Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Red Oak fans traveled to Waxhachie in full force Tuesday night to watch the Lady Hawks take on the Lady Indians. Fans from both teams got very loud from the beginning, creating an intense, high energy play-off atmosphere. Even though the Lady Hawks had already secured the District 15-4A Championship, a 20 year undefeated District game streak was on the line.

The first set started with Morgan Watts and Kennedi Coleman setting the tone early as they blocked the first 3 Lady Indian hits. The Lady Hawks jumped out to a 6-1 lead forcing the Lady Indians to call a time out. The Lady Indians were able to battle back to tie the score at 12 and the war was on. The Lady Hawks then fell behind 13-14, but then Hunter Porter, Caleah Wells and Lindsay Prasifka went on the attack and Gabby Pena picked the team up on defense as the Lady Hawks scored the next 4 points to take a 17-14 lead. The Lady Indians came back to tie the set at 20, but again the Lady Hawks stepped up when they needed to and closed out the set winning 25-23.

The second set started with the Lady Hawks playing flat, falling behind early 1-4. After a Red Oak time out, the Lady Hawks fought back to tie the score at 9. From then on it was a see saw battle with neither team able to get more than a 2 point lead. With the Lady Hawks losing 22-23, Gabby Pena tied the game with a serving ace. However, the Lady Hawks could not pull it out as they lost 23-25.

Losing the second set was all the motivation the Lady Hawks needed as they jumped out to a 9-4 lead in the third set. The Lady Indians had no answer for the powerful hitting of Hunter Porter as she put down kill after kill. Gabby Pena, Lindsay Prasifka and Averi Walker dug almost everything the Lady Indians hit to extend the Lady Hawks lead to 20-12. Freshman Come Up Short Against Waxahachie
    Tuesday, October 26, 2010

The Lady Hawks ended their season on a down note as they lost to the Lady Indians in Waxahachie Tuesday night in 2 sets, 15-25 and 14-25. Unforced errors hurt the Lady Hawks all match long, not allowing them to get into any kind of offensive rythm. Any spark created by an Alyse Bailey or Lauren White well placed hit were countered by good Waxahachie team.

The Freshman Lady Hawks end theri season with a 12-4 District record.

Lady Hawks Cage the Lady Tigers
Friday, October 22, 2010 by Ron Watts

The Lady Hawks were in Corsicana Friday night to play the Lady Tigers.

The game began with confusion between the referee and Coach Porter about when the roster was given to the scorers table causing the referee to penalize Red Oak with a delay of game. After a 15 minute delay play started with the referee awarding a penalty point to Corsicana and giving the Lady Tigers the opening serve. A quick kill by Lindsay Prasifka gave the Lady Hawks the serve. Averi Walker served two straight aces and Hunter Porter sent a powerful kill into the Lady Tigers defense. After another powerful shot by Hunter Porter into the corner of the court the line judge ruled the ball in but was overruled by the up-referee which caused Coach Porter to strongly object to the referee's call. The referee promptly gave Coach Porter a yellow card for her protest of the call. The Lady Hawks were able to get into an offensive rhythm as Hunter Porter, Caleah Wells, Kennedi Coleman and Lindsay Prasifka pounded the Lady Tigers with kill after kill while Averi Walker, Emmalee Smith and Kaycie Bird kept the Lady Tigers off balance with pinpoint serving. The Lady Hawks took the first set 25-11.

The second set started with excellent hitting by Hunter Porter, Lindsay Prasifka and Morgan Watts while Mallory Bolin and Gabby Pena played great back row defense. The Lady Hawks jumped out to a 16-4 lead. Kaycie Bird and Emmalee Smith set the ball exactly where the hitters needed it to keep their offense rolling. The Lady Hawks closed the set out with a service ace by Averi Walker and a 25-9 win.

In the third set Kennedi Coleman and Caleah Wells went on an offensive attack and got the Lady Hawks out to a 5-2 lead. After a Lady Hawk net violation and hitting error the Lady Tigers were back in the set at 5-4 however, that's as close as they would get as Hunter Porter stretched the lead to 11-4 with accurate serving and kills from all over the court. The Lady Hawks closed out the set and the match 25-12.

With this win the Lady Hawks also won the district 15-4A title for the 21st consecutive year.

Congratulations to the Lady Hawks on another great win, 34-7 overall and 15-0 in district with one match remaining in the regular season.

JV Has Easy Night Against Corsicana
    Friday, October 22, 2010

The JV Lady Hawks had an easy night with the inexperienced Corsicana JV. Corsicana had trouble returning the Lady Hawks well placed   serves and hits. When Corsicana did manage to return a serve Chloe Davis, Alex Fletcher, Kristen Kistner and Elyse Berlin were able to hit unreturnable shots. They won the first set 25-6.

It was more of the same in the second set. Taylor Anderson served 12 points in a row to push the Lady Hawks lead to 13-1. Elyse Berlin then served 6 more points and Chloe Davis served the rest of the way to give the Lady Hawks a 25-7 victory.

    Freshman Tame Lady Tigers
Friday, October 22, 2010 by Vicary Yetts

The Freshman Lady Hawks beat the Corsicana Lady Tigers in 2 sets Friday night, 25-18 and 25-11.

In the first set, the Lady Hawks wrestled with the lead, losing their focus and making unforced errors leaving them trailing the Lady Tigers, 4-9.  Regaining their composure and behind the 6 point serving run by Kajaira Mays and some pinpoint kills by Alyse Bailey and Lauren White, the Lady Hawks fought back to tie at 10 and soon took the lead 14-11. With a 5 point serving run by Haley Chaddick, the rattled Lady Tigers could do nothing to stop the attack by the Lady Hawks. The Lady Hawks dominated the remainder of the set and went on to win 25-18.

In the second set, the Lady Hawks continued their domination and took a commanding 8-1 lead.  Behind 5 point and 7 pont serving runs by Alyse Bailey, bullseye kills from Alyse Bailey, Lauren White, Kajaira Mays, and Brandi Sharp, and impressive defense by Kaylee Yetts, Sammie Lamb, and Breanna Shue, the Lady Hawks came together focused and confident, and went on to achieve their goal - to take the win, 25-11.

Lady Hawks Soar Over the Lady Pirates
Tuesday, October 19, 2010 by Ron Watts

It was Senior Night and there was nervous excitement in the air at the Red Oak High School gymnasium as the Red Oak Lady Hawks were at home to play the Mesquite Poteet Lady Pirates and play, well that's exactly what they did. They played with determination, they played with pride, they played for tradition and they played for each other. This was more than just another home game, this was the final home game for 5 seniors who were carrying the weight of a 20 year home district winning streak on their shoulders.

Lindsay Prasifka pounded kill after kill into the Lady Pirates' defensive, she played back row defense and served to perfection. Hunter Porter was an unstoppable force, she powered her way through the defense with rocket shots. Morgan Watts put up a wall at the net, jousted, tipped and sent laser shots past the defense with marksman accuracy. Kaycie Bird served and set with the precision of a Swiss watch, played excellent defense and threw in a kill for good measure. Gabby Pena patrolled the back row and dug every ball that came her way, served with skill and accuracy and used her emotions to keep the teams' spirit high.

These 5 ladies knew their job and they did their job to carry on the 20 year winning tradition that is Red Oak volleyball. Congratulations to our seniors, a job well done! 25-15, 25-16, 25-23. The Lady Hawks are now 14-0 in district and 33-7 overall.

The Lady Hawks beat the Forney Lady Jackrabbits in 3 sets at home Friday night. In the first set, with the score tied at 2, Averi Walker stepped up to the serving line and served the next 8 points for the Lady Hawks. That was the spark the Lady Hawks needed as Lindsay Prasifka, Hunter Porter and Caleah Wells went to work on offense and Gabby Pena and Mallory Bolin controlled the back line on defense as they cruised to a 25-10 victory.

The Lady Hawks struggled early in the second set as they got behind the Lady Jackrabbits 1-3. Morgan Watts came through with several kills to tie the score at 4. Averi Walker and Emmalee Smith went on 5 point serving runs and both made great defensive plays allowing the Lady Hawks to jump out to a 14-6 lead. Forney Take Freshman in 2
Friday, October 15, 2010 by Vicary Yetts

The Lady Hawks suffered yet another disappointing loss Friday night to the Forney Lady Jackrabbits.  In the 1st set, the Lady Jackrabbits set the tone early for the night.  With great defensive skills and well placed hits from the talented Forney team, the Lady Hawks were unable to come together and take the lead but did manage to hold Forney’s lead to within 1.  With some encouraging words by Coach Fullmer, the Lady Hawks tied the game at 8.  It didn’t take long however and the Lady Jackrabbits were back on top leading 17 -11 after several missed serves and unforced errors by the Lady Hawks. Fighting to get back into the game, the Lady Hawks manage to pull within 3, 19-22. With the end in sight and the fear of another district loss under their belt, the Lady Hawks rallied together one last time behind the serves of Haley Chaddick and tied the game at 22.  Momentum sided with Forney as they defeated the Lady Hawks 22-25.

In the 2nd set, the Lady Hawks came out of the gate with a much stronger showing – seeming ready to play, ready to win.  With impressive defense by the back line (Kaylee Yetts, Sammie Lamb, and Alyse Bailey), precise setting by Haley Chaddick, and a few pinpoint kills by Lauren White and Kajaira Mays, the Lady Hawks began the game in the lead and it appeared that would be the momentum for this set as they kept the lead in their favor.  This was short-lived however, as the Lady Jackrabbits seem to want the victory more.  Error after error and the inability to come together as a team took their toll and the Lady Hawks soon found themselves trailing the Lady Jackrabbits 13-21.   Lady Hawks lost the battle,  17-25.

    VARSITY WAXES HACHIE
    Friday, September 24, 2010

The Lady Hawks played the Waxahachie Lady Indians at home Friday night in front of a great crowd in a battle for first place in District 15-4A. From the start, the fans from both teams were loud, created a play-off like atmosphere the whole match.

Playing without starter Kennedi Coleman for the match, the Lady Hawks started the first set strong leading 7-5. The Lady Indians fought back to tie the score at 9, but that would be as close as they would come. With Lindsay Prasifka and Hunter Porter pounding from the outside and Caleah Wells and Morgan Watts controlling the inside, the Lady Indians weren't having much luck as the Lady Hawks pulled out to a 20-14 lead. The Lady Indians made a small run at the end but came up short as the Lady Hawks won 25-20.

The second set was a close, intense, back and forth game most of the way. With the score tied at 20 the Lady Hawks clamped down with great defense from Gabby Pena, Mallory Bolin, Hunter Porter, Averi Walker and Kaycie Bird to secure the win, 25-22.

In the third set, the Lady Hawks jumped out to an early 3-0 lead only to allow the Lady Indians to tie the score at 3. That trend continued as the Lady Hawks would build a lead only to have Waxahachie come back to tie, until the score was 15-13. At that point Hunter Porter took over getting kill after kill, building the Lady Hawks lead to 20-15. The Lady Hawks went on to win 25-19 on a Hailey Sutton kill.

The Lady Hawks are now 8-0 half way through District play and have an overall record of 27-7.
